Strip Poker Rules

There are no official rules: I offer these as suggestions of how you may play the game.

Whether you play as a couple or in an adult group, I hope you find much to enjoy if following these strip poker rules.

Game Rules

The object of the game

This variation of poker contrasts with the cash based game in its goal. Players are not meant to build a healthy chip stack or gather a large clothing pile. Players will want to get naked for the fun to be had in whatever way that means.

Because of this, all players must be willing entrants. Some mild coercion (if required) is encouraged; however it should not constitute undue pressure on an unwilling person, this is after all supposed to be fun. Generally, make a rule that no casual photography is allowed. This again ensures that participants are happy in their surroundings.

Setting up the game

Each player should be wearing enough clothing to be at ease. If anyone feels they have not worn enough clothes to begin the game, some extra items readily available would be a good pre-thought. This can include an extra pair of socks, scarves and hats etc. If you are minded, for the purposes of hygiene seats should be draped with a towel.

Once the game begins, treat it as a regular freezeout tournament; meaning players cannot re-buy by adding more clothes. Talking of freezeout, you may think to turn up the heating a notch or two if playing during the winter months.

The organiser may also need to supply an amount of betting tokens. If you don’t have poker chips, something suitable can be substituted, small coins, matchstick etc.

What counts as clothing to be removed

Let’s not get too formal here, if some shy or teasing player considers removing an earring as an item of clothing, then so be it. However, some friendly and complimentary encouragement may suggest that if small items like earrings count, they should be considered as a pair. You’ll all get naked soon enough.

The game ends

The game may end when the first person is naked or when everyone is naked or when everyone has completed a forfeit, or what the heck, you decide, keep playing - have fun.

Everyone's a winner in this game.

What counts as naked

Only total nudity really counts as naked, but this is for the fun of it; if a player baulks at baring their all, let it slide. It may be uncomfortable if one player is on a losing streak early and feels like they do not want to be totally nude when everyone else is fully clothed. A shy player may instead like to pay an early forfeit saving total nudity for a later stage if at all.

Players could try to cut a deal; if a shy player is as naked as they dare to get at that stage, let them continue playing until another players find themselves similarly undressed; or suggest total nudity for them comes if they lose two more hands.

Friendly enthusiasm

Cheering, jeering and whooping complimentary encouragements are helpful as players undress or perform forfeits. This helps to chivvy things along and make everyone feel good about the fun you are all having.

Opt out

Nobody should be forced to play; if any player decides that the game has gone beyond their individual comfort level, they can either leave the table and retire or stay sitting out. But what am I saying… this is for the fun of getting naked. If you’re all happy to get it on, shuffle up and deal.

Game play

The first game is written for 4-5 players. Further on, there are rules for 4-10 players, larger groups and couples.

Strip poker for 4-5 players

The game is based on 5 Card Draw, where standard poker hand rankings apply.

Each player begins with three chips (or five chips for a slower game).

There are two betting rounds; the first follows the initial deal, and the second follows the draw. The cost of a bet on each round is zero.

All players pay a one chip ante at the beginning of the hand, although if a player puts in their last chip or has no chips left to put in, they are considered all-in and must play their cards through to the showdown (providing there is one).

Five cards are dealt face down to each player.

Players are asked in turn if they will play or fold. The cost to fold after the initial deal is one chip.

Each player who did not fold after the initial deal may, when it is their turn, choose how many cards they want to discard and exchange for new ones from the top of the deck. In 5 Card Draw, players may exchange none, any or all of their cards, once.

Players are again asked in turn if they will continue to play or fold. The cost to fold after the draw is two chips.

If two or more players remain in the hand they go to the showdown, where the player or players with the losing hands (or only the player with the worst hand as a variation) removes an item of clothing.

If more than one player is due to remove clothing, they should do so one at a time to ensure the lucky player receives the full attention and compliments of all.

If a losing player is already naked they may be encouraged to pay a forfeit. See below.

The pot is not won by the winning hand. Instead the pot is set to one side and the player with the best hand claims one chip as their prize. A hand that does not go to a showdown, does not award a one chip prize. And if a player did not pay the one chip anti they may not take a one chip prize if they win.

After the showdown, if two or more players are without chips, all players’ stacks are restored to 3 chips (or 5 if playing the slower game).

If a deal begins where one or two players are without chips or paying their last chip as an ante, they will have to play the hand through to the showdown.

A few extra tips for novice card players

Play begins with the player to the left of the dealer and continues clockwise around the table.

The dealer position rotates to the player on the left as each new hand is dealt.

Forfeits

Inevitably some will want to play-on without clothes. If a losing player is already naked, or as naked as they dare get, they may be encouraged to pay a forfeit.

Forfeits should be determined before the start of the game. Selecting a forfeit may be done by drawing a random card; match the card rank to the forfeit ideas. A few forfeit suggestions are detailed below; although I’m sure you can come up with many of your own. Forfeits should be brief and fun, and within the player group’s level of acceptable decency.

A few forfeits have a short time limit attached. No one will need to be too strict in applying it. Some of the suggested forfeits require the involvement of each member of the opposite sex. If this seems to slow the game for your group, then adapt the forfeit to involve just one member of the opposite sex. And of course, if you choose, forfeits can include members of the same sex.

2 ~ Walk the line - The player must slowly walk heal to toe with arms outstretched the length of the room and back, as if on a tight rope.

3 ~ Catwalk - The player is a catwalk model and must strut around the table stopping at each member of the opposite sex and showing off a pose.

4 ~ Bunny hops - The player must make one circuit of the room (or two if in a small room) with their ankles together and their wrists together in front of their chest bunny hopping as they go and ask, “eeee what’s up Doc” before they sit down again.

5 ~ Shopping - The player must stand in front of each member of the opposite sex, offer a part of their body and ask, “are these fresh and juicy.” The other player may have to test the body part for weight and texture before giving their answer.

6 ~ Medical check - The player must stand in front of each member of the opposite sex and ask for a professional opinion on a part of their body.

7 ~ Secret Santa - The player must sit on the lap of each member of the opposite sex and tell Santa what they want for Christmas.

8 ~ Feel the love - The player must go to each member of the opposite sex, and tightly hug each other for 30 seconds.

9 ~ The Eiffel Tower - The player must go to each member of the opposite sex and pretend to be the Eiffel Tower by standing legs apart, and reach up as tall as they can get. When they have gotten to their fullest height, holding that pose they must ask what the view is like from below and wait for a reply before relaxing.

10 ~ Wriggle giggle - The player must sit on the lap of each member of the opposite sex wriggling and giggling for 30 seconds. And if they can’t giggle they should be tickled to make them.

Jack ~ Caught naked - The player must run around the room for at least 30 seconds as if shamefully embarrassed at being caught nude. They must use their hands or any object except for clothing to cover their wobbly bits.

Queen ~ You’re under arrest - The player must stand against the wall or lean on the table legs spread and be patted down by each member of the opposite sex as if checking for concealed weapons.

King ~ You’ve been bad - The player must go over the lap of a member of the opposite sex and tell, "I have been a very naughty boy/girl and need punishment." The seated player should oblige and give an appropriate spanking.

Ace ~ Helpless - The player must sit out the next three deals on a chair at the end of the room in full view, as if having their hands tied behind them and their legs tied wide apart. If called upon to participate in a forfeit for another player they must return to their helpless state afterwards.

Alternate Forfeits

If any of the above have been done too often, or a player really doesn’t want to do a particular forfeit then substitute one of these.

Alt ~ Robotics - The player must make one circuit of the room (or two if in a small room) moving as a robot making any extra mechanical noises they wish as an accompaniment.

Alt ~ Chicken walk - The player must make one circuit of the room (or two if in a small room) moving as a chicken and clucking as an accompaniment.

Alt ~ Gym check - The player must do 10 push ups and 10 sit ups.

Alt ~ Ice age – The player must let a member of the opposite sex rub a small ice cube over their body until it is completely melted.

Alt ~ Shakin’ that ass - The player must stand and demonstrate their talent for erotic dancing by shaking their bootie for 30 seconds.

Alt ~ Gym check 2 - The player must do 10 star jumps.

Alt ~ Thigh high - The player must stand facing the wall, eyes closed and guess who is touching their thigh. If wrong or if they peek, the action is repeated by another person or until everyone has taken a turn.

Alt – Cat walk - The player must go around the table on their hands and knees motioning like a cat stopping at each member of the opposite sex to rub against them.

Alt ~ Tantrum - The player must throw a 30 second tantrum shrieking, stamping their feet and crying.

Alt ~ Snow joke - The player must do 10 snow angels on the floor.

Alt ~ Happy snapper – The player must be posed by each member of the opposite sex for a virtual photograph. The virtual photographer may direct the pose or move the model by hand. The virtual photo is taken when an imaginary shutter click sound is made.

Alt ~ Graffiti - The player must stand with their back to the wall, eyes closed and have each member of the opposite sex write a rude word on their midriff (or anywhere that comes to hand) using their fingertip. The player must announce the word.

Strip poker for 4-10 players

The game is played similar to Texas Hold’em where standard poker hand rankings apply. However, for strip poker it is good to use fewer betting rounds.

Each player begins with three chips (or five chips for a slower game).

There are two betting rounds; the first follows the initial deal, and the second follows the flop. The cost of a bet on each round is zero.

All players pay a one chip ante at the beginning of each hand, although if a player puts in their last chip or has no chips left to put in, they are considered all-in and must play their cards to the showdown (providing there is one).

Two cards are dealt face down to each player.

Players are asked in turn if they will play or fold. The cost to fold after the initial deal is one chip.

Three cards are dealt face up in the centre of the table.

Players are asked in turn if they will continue to play or fold. The cost to fold after the flop is two chips.

Two more cards are dealt face up in the centre of the table. Players who have not folded go to the showdown where the player or players with the losing hands (or only the player with the worst hand as a variation) removes an item of clothing.

If more than one player is due to remove clothing, they should do so one at a time to ensure the lucky player receives the full attention and compliments of all.

If a losing player is already naked they may be encouraged to pay a forfeit.

The pot is not won by the winning hand. Instead the pot is set to one side and the player with the best hand claims one chip as their prize. A hand that does not go to a showdown, does not award a one chip prize. And if a player did not pay the one chip anti they may not take a one chip prize if they win.

After the showdown, if three or more players are without chips, all players’ stacks are restored to 3 chips (or 5 if playing the slower game).

If a deal begins where one or two players are without chips or paying their last chip as an ante, they will have to play the hand through to the showdown.

Adjustments

If 8-10 people are playing, it may beneficially shorten the game time if played with 3 chips, and/or chips stacks are restored to the full amount only when 6-8 players are without chips.

Strip poker for 10-25 players

This game is kept simple so negating the need for a long explanation to a large number of people. No chips are used in this game.

At the end of each hand players with a hand of a high or low total numerical value are both required to remove an item of clothing (or if already naked may be encouraged to pay a forfeit).

Two cards are dealt face down to everyone, players look at their own cards, then choose one card to pass to the player on their left.

When everyone has passed a card, players now choose again one card to pass to the player on their left.

At the showdown players now count up the numerical value of their hands; Aces count as 1 and picture cards as 10. The players making the highest and lowest numbers lose an item of clothing. In the event of a tie no separation is made, all tied players lose an item of clothing.

When a player is due to remove clothing, they should do so one at a time to ensure the lucky player receives the full attention and compliments of all.

If a losing player is already naked they may be encouraged to pay a forfeit.

Optional extra rules for 10-25 players

Any player left holding a pair at the showdown must also remove an item of clothing. If that player is one already removing an item they must remove a second item.

A male player holding the Jack of hearts may chose a female player to hug tightly while any losing players (including themselves if that is the case) remove an item of clothing.

A female player holding the Queen of hearts may chose a male player to hug tightly while any losing players (including themselves if that is the case) remove an item of clothing.

If a female player is holding the Queen of spades, she may have the privilege to undress any male player if one or more have lost and are due to lose a garment.

If a male player is holding the King of spades, he may have the privilege to undress any female player if one or more have lost and are due to lose a garment.

Strip poker for couples

The game is based upon 7 Card Roll Your Own and is played without chips.

Seven cards are dealt to each player face down. Players look at their own cards and taking alternate turns select five cards to turn face up, one at a time.

After five cards are revealed, the player with the best poker hand showing at this stage may request the other player flashes a hidden item of clothing or body part and remain exposed until the end of the hand.

Players continue to turn up the remaining two cards alternating one at a time; the player ending with the best final five card poker hand wins and the losing player removes an item of clothing. If a losing player is already naked they may be encouraged to pay a forfeit.

Optional wild card rules for couples

A player that loses holding the Ace of hearts must if clothed, perform a forfeit as well as removing an item of clothing.

A player that wins holding the Ace of hearts may have the privilege to remove an item of clothing from their partner.
